Aid In Dying Laws Proposed in The District and Maryland

A “Death with Dignity” law has now been proposed in D.C. and Maryland. More than a dozen other states are now contemplating the idea of the terminally ill being able to legally end their own lives in what is commonly referred to as a “physician-assisted suicide.” Five other states currently allow this practice: Oregon, Washington, Vermont, Montana, and New Mexico.
