First VBB Home Game Is A Victory

Warriors played their first home game of the season last Friday night against the Jeb Stuart Raiders and earned another win, 84-42. Our mighty Warriors continued the season with a record of 2-1.

After facing an upset last week against Eastern High School, our boys came back for a 42 point victory over the Raiders. Wakefield kept the lead in every quarter during the game. During the game, senior Jordan Allen made one 3 point field goal, senior Marqua Walton made three 3 point field goals, and junior Chris Jankovich made one 3 point field goal.

Along with the 3 pointers that were made that night, Wakefield had players that made 2 point field goals. Senior Dominique Tham made nine 2 point field goals, junior Deng Nhial made five 2 point field goals, senior Jordan Allen made four 2 point field goals, sophomore Alan Treakle made three 2 point field goals, senior Xavier Cooper made three 2 point field goals, senior Nick Epperson made two 2 point field goals, senior Elijah Callwood made one 2 point field goal, and junior Dominic Prosise made one 2 point field goal. This long list shows that everyone who is on the court contributes to the win. Go,  #warriornation!

Varsity Boys won against our cross town rival, Yorktown on Tuesday, 63-44. The season is now at 3-1 for Wakefield. Coach Bentley’s goal is to win districts and make it to the State run for the third time in three years. With this starting record, it should happen.
