A-SPAN Walk-a-Thon CANCELED

Mark your calendars for Friday, May 15 from 8:30am- 3:00pm! The Interact club and A-SPAN are working together to host a Walk-a-Thon to raise money to fight homelessness. Students are able to donate $10 (or more), get a t-shirt, and have their name entered in a raffle to win fabulous gift certificates to restaurants in the local area. Who knows? You could use that treat for a date on #promnight, maybe?

Ms. Cameron will be hosting the event. She’s the Interact club sponsor this year. When asked what the Interact Club’s mission is for this event, she said, “to give students the opportunity to volunteer in the community, as well as bring attention to organizations in need of help. It’s a group where it’s lead by example, and to promote humanitarian efforts at Wakefield and beyond.” The goal with the Walk-a-Thon is to raise more than the “Ultimate Wakefield Warrior Competition” from earlier this year, $850.

You can walk during lunch, or during a Study Seminar class. Speak with your teacher the day before, and bring a teacher’s pass, please! Sign up during lunch in Town Hall next week.

Spread the event information to your class involved; A-SPAN volunteers will have buckets at the track on Friday, 5/15. Get everyone to donate $1 to help fight homelessness.
