Must Watch Nationals Games in June, July, and August

Nats+Park+is+the+place+to+be+this+summer+%21+

Nats Park is the place to be this summer !

If you’re looking for something cool to do during this summer, you should consider heading down to Nats Park! Supporting your hometown Nationals is a great way to curve your boredom!

So I looked over the Nats schedule for the summer, and found some really great games that should be a lot of fun:

The 26th-29th of June, the Nats play the Cubs. The World Champion Chicago Cubs come to town and as of now the Nats and the Cubs look like two of the best teams in the national league! This series should be a good preview to the postseason as both teams look to go deep in the postseason and fight to win that elusive world series trophy.

The 3rd-5th of July, the Mets come to town! The Mets-Nationals rivalry has only grown in the past couple of years as New York has a loaded pitching rotation with young talent who can all throw gas and a very good starting line up that knows how to come up clutch. This Mets team could give the Nats some trouble but it’s nothing the Nats can’t handle. The last time the mets were in town the Nats killed it with a 23-5 victory !

The 25th-30th of July, the Brewers and Rockies come to town! This home stand has both the Brewers and the Rockies which both teams have surprised the baseball world with how good they have been playing! The Brew Crew is being led by journeyman Eric Thames who has slugged his way back into the major leagues and their impressive pitching staff has shut down opponents. The Rockies are led by third baseman Nolan Arenado and center fielder Charlie Blackmon. The Rockies are looking like a very tough opponent who has yet to show any weakness. In this series, look for the Nats to try and score early and get to both the Brewers and Rockies weaker bullpens.

Nationals pitchers Steven Strasburg and Gio Gonzalez high five each other before a game.

The 11th-13th of August, the Giants come to town, and bring back some tough memories for the Nationals and their fans. With memories of the 2014 NLDS fresh in the minds of the players, both teams are looking for victories! The Giants are lead by Former MVP catcher Buster Posey and an impressive starting rotation led by Madison Bumgarner, who has shut down the Nats before. Look for the Nats to find a way to slow down the hot hitting Eduardo Nunez and try to get to the Giants young arms in the bullpen. Also, look for the rivalry of Giants relief pitcher Hunter Strickland and Nats super star Bryce Harper to come up; it’s always an interesting one; the last time these two faced each other, it ended up in a fight.

The 15th-16th of August, the Angels come into town, and it’s another stop on the Albert Pujols history express as the slugger who has dominated the baseball universe for years is on a mission to break records  and is looking like he can dominate  for another 5 years by the way he is hitting. The Angels aren’t really a big challenge for the Nats, but look for the return of former Nats shortstop Danny Espinosa to come back and make it hard on the Nats pitching but also look for the battle of the MVP’s as American League MVP Mike Trout goes up against National league MVP Bryce Harper. Harper and Trout have been considered by many as the league’s best players with little separating the two superstars; this series will show who is better than the other.

The 22nd-24th of August, the Nats travel to Houston to play the Astros. The Houston Astros are looking like the team to beat in the National league with the Astros starting their season as the best team in baseball and looking like they forgot how to lose. With players like Jose Altuve, Carlos Correa, George Springer, and Lance Mccullers the Astros have young All-star caliber type players! With the Nats heading to Houston, this series is looking like it will be a preview to the World Series. In this series, the Nats need good pitching and clutch pitching from their bullpen to stifle the red hot Astros.

The 28th-30th of August, the Miami Marlins come to town and the Nats are looking like they are going to sweep this series with the Marlins sadly being one of the worse teams in baseball. The Nats need to be wary of the super slugger Giancarlo Stanton and the speedy Dee Gordon at second base has been giving teams worries with his speed on the base paths. Pitching wise, the Marlins have Edinson Volquez who has resurged and has became a great pitcher again. Volquez has already thrown a No-Hitter and it seems like he gets better after every outing he has.

The Nationals will be having a pretty active summer so, go out and support our Nats as they continue the fight to bring a championship to DC ! #OnePursuit
