WEEK 4: Coming in to Week 4, the Washington Redskins were 1-2, good for last place in the NFC East. Last week Redskins got a big win over the Giants but it came with a price, as they lost a lot of players to injuries. This week they faced off vs the Cleveland Browns at Fedex Field.  The Redskins should have won this game by more than two touchdowns as the Redskins are simply a better team.

The beginning of this game went as planned for the Redskins as QB Kirk Cousins threw two touchdown passes to TE Jordan Reed in the first half and it seemed like the Redskins would run away with this game. That did not happen as the Browns scored on 2 straight drives and also forced an interception from Kirk Cousins. The Redskins defense could not stop the browns offense but they caused three key turnovers including an interception and two forced fumbles. This would prove to be the key as the Redskins came back from a 17-14 lead to win the game 31-20. But as the season goes on the Redskins will need to step up all  around especially defensively if they want to win the NFC East for a second straight year.

WEEK 5: The Washington Redskins went to Baltimore in Week 5 to face the Ravens in the “Battle of the Beltway”. The Ravens wanted to redeem themselves after they lost last week at home. The Redskins coming off a win against the Browns are 2-2 and were looking to improve their record.  Coming in to this game Redskins defense has been struggling everywhere especially the run. Many injuries also have hurt the redskins defensively and they are thin in the secondary. This game started as expected as the redskins defense could not stop the run on the first drive for the ravens and they easily drove down the field and scored a quick touchdown. That would be the last touchdown for Baltimore as the Redskins defense stepped up and allow no points in the second half. The Redskins offense scored a touchdown pass from QB Kirk Cousins to WR Pierre Garcon a PR touchdown from Jamison Crowder and a big field goal from Kicker Dustin Hopkins. The final score was 16-13 and a third straight win for Washington.

The Redskins need to keep this up to win the NFC East.

Next week Washington comes back home to face off against the Philadelphia Eagles as this is a big division match up as the Eagles lead the division.

With a win Washington will move up to a second place tie with Dallas and increase the chances of a playoff appearance.
