Mmmmm…just how you like it! Custom granola bars!

Granola bars can be a nutritious snack It depends on the brand and the preservatives. Finding that perfect granola bar can be very difficult but with this recipe you can customize a granola bar that is  healthy and perfect for you.

Ingredients:

Important Ingredients: (You must use these to create granola bars.)

2 or 3 cups of old-fashion oatmeal

13’x9’x1’x  quarter sheet pan (baking sheet)

Oil (coconut oil is preferred)

⅓ cup honey

½  cup wheat germ or gluten free oats

2 ½ cup brown sugar or 2 ½ cup  white sugar

⅔ cup maple syrup

Additional Ingredients: (Pick what you want from here. Taste buds are like personalities.You can create unique combination just for you)

1 cup of lightly toasted sliced almonds.

½ cup sliced walnuts, lightly toasted.

2 tablespoons of flax seeds

1 tablespoons of chia seeds

3/4 cup of coconut flakes,lightly toasted.

½ cup chocolate chips

½ cup chocolate

2 ½ cup brown sugar

2 ½ cup  white sugar

⅔ cup maple syrup

Dried blueberries, cherries, any dry fruit

 Steps:

  1. Start off by preheating  the oven to 350 F.
  2. Take your baking sheet and prep it with coconut oil or cooking spray.
  3. Take out any additional ingredients: oats, nuts, seeds, wheat, etc. and mix them in a large bowl. Place them to the side.
  4. Pour your honey, oil, and sugar into a saucepan. Heat it at medium heat and stir until the sugar has dissolved. Make sure not to go over 6 minutes.
  5. Pour in your important ingredients and the additional ingredients into saucepan. Then, stir them together until they are fully mixed.
  6. Pour them onto the baking sheet. Make sure they are all even by pressing everything smooth.
  7. Put them in the oven. Allow them to bake for 35-45 minutes. (Make sure they are lightly brown upon removal.)
  8. Let the granola bar cool; cut them out into any shape you’d like!
