Hurricane Harvey HELP: School Supply Donations on Friday
September 7, 2017
Hurricane Harvey touched down 1400 miles away from Wakefield High School. Watching the devastation on the news, seeing people lose everything, has caused many to want to help. But how? Veteran AP Government teacher, Mr. Grill realized that students would need school supplies. He “got the idea last Friday, when Marshall HS teamed up with McLean HS and collected items at their football game that night. Chris [Willmore] and Bridget Loft, Yorktown’s new principal, quickly signed off” on the idea. When students and parents are already buying supplies, it is an easy thing to do. It helps to give to others.
Wakefield will be collecting school supplies during all three lunches and at the game on Friday.
Here is a list of supplies:
Backpacks
Pencils
Erasers
Crayons
Pocket folders
Notebooks/paper
1 inch binders
