What You Need to Know for Grammy Night

The most important night for the music industry is finally here, the Grammys. The much-anticipated 2018 Grammys will take place this Sunday on CBS; with Carpool Karaoke comedian James Corden as host. This year is also significant, because unlike previous years, rap music is really getting the recognition it deserve s in top categories, like album of the year.

Here is a rundown of what you need to know about the Grammys.

Let’s get straight to the the best part of the night: performances. This year’s lineup of performers has to be one of the strongest in Grammy history. Just some of the amazing artists include Cardi B, Kendrick Lamar, Rhianna, Bruno Mars, SZA, Childish Gambino, Miley Cyrus, Luis Fonsi and Kesha. Let’s not forget the fantastic group acts: Little Big Town and U2. With all these amazing acts, this will definitely be a night to remember.

The most anticipated award? Album of the Year, by far, has the strongest nominees. The nominations are Kendrick Lamar (DAMN), Jay-Z (4:44), Bruno Mars (24K Magic), Childish Gambino (Redbone), and Lorde (Melodrama). What to expect? Not only will this category most likely be a fight between Kendrick and Jay-Z. The whole night will be a battle between these two, with Jay-Z nominated for 8 and Kendrick nominated for 7 awards.
