The most anticipated game of the year is finally out. Fallout 4 sold 1.2 million copies on release day. With a record breaking 470,000 online stream players on launch day, FO4 broke GTA V’s previous record of more than 300,000 online players during launch day. Fallout 4 has set the bar for gaming in the future.
Graphics are what makes this game awesome and basically beautiful. “From Fallout 3 to Fallout 4 the graphics have improved immensely, but it still keeps the same feel of the Wasteland,” said senior William Ramirez. Also, people have tweeted about just going around the map, looking and just admiring the beauty of the Wasteland. Landmarks like Fenway Park have gotten a lot of internet attention. “Literally when I got out of Vault 111, I was just overwhelmed by the beauty of the world,” said senior Shane Thin.
Beyond the beauty, it is the solid story line which keeps players engaged. The story begins while you are peacefully at home with your family. Then you and your family are rushed to Vault 111, where you’ll spend the next 200 years until you wake up in the year 2277 in a post-apocalyptic Boston.
Another amazing part of the game is the creation feature. “I literally spent the whole day in Sanctuary, because the creation system is just amazing in this game,” said senior Shane Thin. Sanctuary Hills is the first settlement you unlock for development. You can use the Workshop to enter “build mode.”
To make it even more real, you can also customize your character at the beginning. You can choose between your character’s gender, build and facial features.
It isn’t all sunshine and beautiful graphics though. There have been a lot of glitches and bugs in the game. Most of them help the player, but a game-breaking bug has been discovered. This has been reported by users from the PS4, Xbox One, and PC communities. Just don’t go to Monsignor Plaza, or your game will crash.
