Last Thursday night the Wakefield Warriors fell to the Edison Eagles in a long and intense match up.

The Warriors came out flat in the first half and got on a roll in the second half, but it was too late. The Eagles came out hot in the first quarter scoring a few times and gaining an early lead on the Warriors. At the end of the quarter it was 14-0. In the second quarter the Eagles scored once more making it 21-0 at the end of the half, while the Warriors remained scoreless.

The Warriors knew this game wasn’t over, they spent the 3rd quarter driving down the field and after a big touchdown run from Junior Rodney Lee. Lee said, “I knew the game wasn’t out of reach, we had to keep playing hard if we want to come back.” The third quarter came to an end with the eagles being on top 28-7. Early in the fourth quarter the Warrior’s came back with Senior Kesean Deshazer returning a kick for a 95 yard touchdown return. Deshazer said, “Most of football success is in the mind, first you have to believe you’re great, then make sure you are.”

The Final score was 34-21, Edison on top, the Warriors gained the speed they needed but it was too late to turn the game around.
