Freshman Football Crushes The Competition

Last Wednesday night, the Freshman football team defeated George Mason High School with a score of 21-6.
When the game began, Wakefield quickly gained control over the ball. Cinquan Ewell scored on the very first play of the game with a 68 yard run.
Wakefield played impressive defense to force a George Mason punt, then Wakefield went back to work on offense. After a quick few plays Wakefield found themselves back in the end zone after Colton Poythress’s touchdown pass to Ethan Novak.
Wakefield scored one more in the first half on a toss to Rodney Lee as the time on the clock expired.
Late in the fourth quarter the Mustangs found their way into the end zone and scored their only touchdown of the game.
Wakefield played a great game on both sides of the ball, giving up very few first downs on defense and putting up 21 points on offense. The final score was 21-6.
