Entering the third year of the pandemic, box offices have been trying to recover from the effects of COVID-19. Fortunately, seeing movies has not always required buying tickets and sitting in theaters as streaming services have been thriving with even the latest movie releases.

We look forward to returning to theaters – and normalcy. Here is a little bit about three new movies that are expected to thrill us in 2022: The Batman, The Northman and Jurassic World: Dominion.

Cast as The Batman, Robert Pattinson of Twilight fame has everyone speculating about this movie. It is set to release on March 4th. Director Matt Reeves said in interviews that he envisioned “a Batman Kurt Cobain,” where Batman is addicted to revenge for his parents’ murders as Cobain was addicted to illegal substances.

The Northman, directed by Robert Eggers, will be in theaters on April 22. The cast includes Alexander Skarsgard, Nicole Kidman, Ethan Hawke, Bjork and Anya Taylor-Joy. Another story about revenge, this thriller is set in Iceland at the turn of the 10^th century.

Many of the same actors – Sam Neill, Jeff Goldblum, Laura Dern and Bryce Dallas Howard – have been recast for Jurassic World: Dominion for its release on June 10. Director Colin Treverrow had the honor of directing this sixth in the series of Jurassic films. The other films were released in 1993, 1997, 2001, 2015, 2018.
