Mako sharks are known for their powerful bursts of speed up to 46 mph and are very aggressive predators. This species is found in New England, Florida, and the Gulf of Mexico, from Florida to Texas. They can also travel across entire oceans; they are the fastest sharks alive.
Mako sharks usually weigh 130-300 pounds as adults they are more of a larger species. It has been said that these sharks rarely attack humans unless they are provoked and feel in danger. Although it’s best you don’t interact with these sharks due to their size and strength and predatory instincts.
So what could actually behead a predator so big and fast?
Fisherman Jason Moyce known as Trapman Bermagui is a second generation commercial Fisherman from Australia. Commercial Fisherman’s catch sharks for their meat and fins used for creating a dish called Shark Fin soup. He was hoping to catch small sharks and wasn’t expecting to catch a severed Maco shark head, it weighed approximately 77 pounds. Speculations are going around that people think a prehistoric megalodon decapitated this shark because of the large bite that was caused.
