A String of Violent Attacks in D.C. Area

A string of violent attacks have been popping up in the D.C. area. Three people were injured in violent and malicious attacks on Sunday. It was reported to D.C. police officials that two people were shot and one person was stabbed Sunday afternoon in a burst of violence in Southeast Washington.
These events make it hard for the D.C. community to feel safe. No immediate connections between any of the attacks could be determined.
A woman was found shot at 46th and G Streets SE at almost the same time a man was found shot nearly two blocks away. Both the man and the woman were reported to be conscious and taken to hospitals. The sites of the shootings are near the Benning Terrace Recreation Center, East of Benning Road and North of Southern Avenue in the Benning Park area.
In the third incident, a man was stabbed at 51st and F Streets SE. The man was reported to be conscious and breathing when police arrived to the crime scene. The stabbing happened on East Benning Road and North Southern Avenue. It was about a half mile east of the other two attacks.
Sadly, those aren’t the only attacks that were reported. It was also reported that early Sunday morning there were five people injured in a shooting in southeast according to D.C. police. It was reported that not only two women, but also three men, had suffered non-life threatening injuries to their hands and legs, as well as their arms. The five civilians were stable when police arrived, but had to be rushed to the hospital.
Another attack was a shooting at the 4300 block of Wheeler Road SE, just after midnight on Sunday. Police have found out that the group of people were approached by a car and an unidentified gunman shot at them, leaving everyone severely injured.
This string of violence may not shock some who follow D.C. area news, but it is necessary to report it so that the violence is noticed and noted.
