Newsblast: Virgin Galactic Aftermath
November 12, 2014
Last Friday, Virgin Galactic launched a test flight of its mother ship, SpaceShipTwo.
Thirteen seconds after being released from it’s carrier plane, the space plane exploded, so far being blamed on air wings that were released too soon. Two pilots were on board, one died and the other survived but is still in critical condition.
Investigations by both Virgin Galactic and the National Transportation Safety Board have been in progress since the accident. In response to the accident, more than three percent of ticket holders have asked for a refund. Virgin Galactic has over 50 million pounds in deposits, a large number of them from celebrities such as Brad Pitt, Lady Gaga and Stephen Hawking.
