-Bayern Munich’s Carlo Ancelotti made history this week by being the first to coach Bayern to 7 wins in the start of a season. Bayern, who beat Bundesligas Hertha BSC, gathered another 3 points as they lead the table in 1st place. The 3-0 victory saw many highlights and also a few emotional moments. In the starting line up for Bayern we had a surprise. The return for Boateng who has been injured the past couple weeks.

Lineups

Bayern: Neuer, Lahm, Martínez, Boateng, Alaba; Thiago, Alonso, Vidal; Müller, Lewandowski, Ribéry.

Hertha: Jarstein, Pekarík, Langkamp, Stark, Plattenhardt; Weiser, Lustenberger, Allan; Esswein, Ibisevic, Haraguchi.

In this exciting match Bayern wrote their name on the score sheet in the 16th minute through the strike of Franck Ribery, who takes a pass from David Alaba, fakes out the Hertha defence with some fake shots, and slots it into the back of the net with his left.

Bayern were dominating the whole first half except for an unexpected chance for Hertha, Esswein beats Vidal to a header to put the ball in the path of Ibisevic who kicks it over the bar. That concludes the first half of the match.

Hertha start off the second half confidently keeping possession well but not getting a goal out of it. In the 68th minute Thiago Alcantara scores after a defensive error by Allan who gives up the ball and Thiago calmly slots it past Herthas goalkeeper. There’s 2 goals in 4 minutes as Arjen Robben does his signature move, cuts in on the left and sees his shot fly past the keeper who has been getting a beating in the last couple minutes.

Not much to say about the last part of the match which was eventless as Bayern walk away with a 3-0 victory and continuing their undefeated winning streak. What an exciting match with goals from Ribery, Thiago, and Robben.

This win is a great confidence boost for Bayern’s champions league game against Atletico Madrid.
