The Wizards are a SERIOUS Threat in the East

The Wizards have suddenly become one of the best and most exciting teams in the NBA. When the Wizards went 3-7 in their first ten games, it looked like they were headed toward the bottom of the East.

The stellar play of John Wall and Bradley Beal is what has pushed the Wizards towards the top. Wall is averaging a career highs in points with 23.1 PPG and assist with 10.7 APG. Beal is averaging a career high with points and assists as well with 23.2 PPG and 3.6 APG.

There has also been great play by role players like Otto Porter and new pick up Bojan Bogdanovic. Porter is currently leading the league in three point percentage at 45.3% from deep. Porter has gone a long way from Shaqtin MVP. Bogdanovic had 27 points with eight 3 pointers in a huge comeback win vs the Magic on March 5th. Bogdanovic is a dangerous off the bench scorer who can go off at any time.

The Wizards had to give up a first round draft pick for him, but it looks like the sacrifice has paid off. The Wizards have also acquired free agent Brandon Jennings. With Jennings, the Wizards are getting a much better backup point guard but with all the injuries he has sustained, he has many holes in his game.

The Wizards went on a 5 game road trip from to March 7th to March 13th, playing in Phoenix, Denver, Sacramento, Portland, and Minnesota. On that stretch the Wizards went 4-1 losing in the last game to the Timberwolves 119-104 with Ricky Rubio pulling apart their defense with 22 points and 19 assists.

The Wizards are now on a two game losing streak. With their loss to the Dallas Mavericks March 15th, the Wizards currently stand at 41-26, good for 3rd place in the East. The only teams that stand in front of them are the Cavaliers (44-22) and the Celtics (43-25).

As the season ends, its seems like things are going to get dramatic out east.
