Returning participant, senior Evie Priestman, said “For me, Pride is a day created for those who identify as LGBTQ+ to experience being recognized and celebrated for their identity.” This will be his fourth year attending this remarkable movement.

Wakefield Equal Club poses for a picture at last year’s Pride Parade.

“It’s a really fun event that really strengthens and unifies the LGBT community and shows our resilience. I went last year, and this will be my second time. My favorite thing is the amount of friends I’ve made there and the amazing people I have met” said Hannah Jones, co-president of Equal Club. Ms. Davidson added, “I am looking forward to this year’s parade and the memories the students will obtain from this eye-opening experience.”

Come out to Pride and take cute selfies with your friends to remember the parade!

We encourage Wakefield students to come out and support the diversity that is present and encouraged in the school!
