“The opportunity for brotherhood presents itself every time you meet a human being.” – Jane Wyman

Lone Survivor is a true story about four Navy Seals who get stranded in Afghanistan. Surrounded by an army of Al-Qaeda members, with all communication cut off by the deserted landscape of tall mountain peaks, they have only their guns and brothers to defend themselves. These men are in an unknown territory, with enemies that live and know the land. These circumstances put them in deep trouble, they have no choice but to hope for a miracle.

This movie is highly recommended for two reasons, it has very strong human themes that we can all relate to, and the movie does an excellent job of entertaining its audience with an epic account of a true story. Themes of brotherhood and courage which are presented in this movie are things everyone can observe and learn from. The characters (based on real people), put their own lives in danger to save their brothers, it really sets a good example of the courage we all should have when faced with challenging situations. This movie teaches us the lesson that when faced with adversity, it is beneficial to have supportive friends who can be a source of help.

With the combination of all the real Navy Seal situations and intense combat scenes, this movie does not fail to entertain. It is a gut wrenching movie from start to end, and is not for the faint hearted; this movie gives you a taste of you the kind of blood and gore found in an authentic war. So watch this movie with caution if you do not wish to experience intense images associated with warfare. But for all those who love war films and non-stop action, Lone Survivor gives you an experience you will never forget.
