Last Friday, the Warriors took on National Collegiate Prep. The Warriors hoped to end a grueling 3 game slump and get back on track for this season. The Warriors’ strong start gave them the win they needed to turn the tide this season.

In the 1st quarter, the Warriors got off to a modest start, and their strong defense showed as they kept NCP scoreless. The Warriors put up a early touchdown giving them momentum and control with the game at 6-0. Their exceptional defense and persistence carried over in the 2nd quarter.

During the 2nd quarter, the Warriors took complete control putting 14 points on the board. The Warriors were in a good position going into halftime with a 20-0 lead shutting out their opponent.

An outstanding performance of 2 touchdowns by senior running back Jaleel Prather helped the Warriors take this early lead at halftime. He said. “I’m getting more and more carries each game and it’s allowing me to show what I’ve got.”

The 3rd quarter had a complete momentum change as NCP put up 2 touchdowns while the the Warriors scored one more of their own. The strong defensive play of the Warriors began to wither and NCP soon took advantage taking their momentum onto the 4th quarter. The score at 27-12, Warriors on top.

At the start of the 4th quarter the momentum shifted to the opponent. NCP rushed down the field on multiple drives scoring another 2 touchdowns. The game was neck and neck. Wakefield put up only 1 touchdown in the 4th, but their early dominant play allowed them to come out with the win, the final score 34-28.

Be sure to support the Warriors tonight @ 7:00pm as they travel to the Lee Lancers.
