WNBA Champions: What a Week It’s Been!
The Washington Mystics are the 2019 WNBA champions; the team has had a long run leading them to their first championship in franchise history. In the final game on Thursday, October 10th, the Mystics held the lead throughout the majority of the game bringing them to a finish of 89-78 over the Connecticut Suns. The MVP performance came from Emma Meesseman; she came off the bench with 22 points playing 27 minutes. Both teams showed that the WNBA deserved more than a slot on ESPN 2 for the final playoff game of the season.
Since the Championship win, the players have been seen all over the DMV spreading the love that brought them that Championship win. They have brought that winning spirit back to DC. They #RanItBack!

Wednesday night, The Mystics players stopped by the Caps game and had a blast showing off the trophy. They must have been good luck because the Caps won their first home game 4-3 vs. the Maple Leafs. #TogetherDC

On Thursday, Natasha Cloud brought 300 books to Hendley Elementary School in Ward 8 and read to students.
