Recap of 2022 Winter Olmpics

Here is a quick recap for you of the 2022 Winter Olympics in Beijing, which ended February 20th, 2022. We found the best articles to read to remember all of the victories Team USA had in February.

​​Nathan Chen is on the USA team of figure skaters, a three-time World champion, the 2017 Four Continents champion, a three-time Grand Prix Final champion, and the six-time U.S. national champion. Chen won the 2022 Olympic figure skating title, with a combined score of 332.60 from the short program and free skate events. www.vox.com

Erin Jackson won the 500m speed skating competition in the Olympics and made history by being the first black woman to win the 500-meter speed skating event since 1994. Jackson’s 500m time was 26.71 seconds. It was a remarkable performance from Jackson in what is the United States’ first speed skating gold since Shani Davis won the men’s 1,000 at Vancouver 2010. www.espn.com

Chloe Kim competed in the women’s snowboarding event. She is the only woman to have ever won two gold medals in the halfpipe.

Nick Baumgartner and Lindsay Jacobellis made history, winning a gold medal in the mixed-team snowboard cross; they are the oldest medalists in Olympic snowboarding history.

Medal race list, Norway is at the top of the medal race list with sixteen gold medals, they have six medals in the Biathlon, five in cross country skiing, two in nordic combined, and lastly, they have one gold medal in speed skating, freestyle skiing, and ski jumping.
