New Sequels You Need to See as Soon as They Come Out

There are many movies coming out in 2023 that we are ready and excited to watch. Start marking your calendars. According to rottentomatoes.com, “The year boasts a wealth of superhero titles, plenty of explosive action, some spine-tingling horror, and even a few throwbacks to franchises of old”. These franchise films will become fan favorites soon.

  • Creed III

With the third entry in the Rocky spin-off Creed series, Michael B. Jordan made his feature film directorial debut on March 3rd. He plays Apollo Creed, the son of Rocky’s antagonist-turned-friend, in the film. While the details of this chapter are yet unknown, Jonathan Majors is Adonis’s competition in the ring, and Tessa Thompson and Phylicia Rashad reprise their roles as Adonis’s mother and girlfriend, respectively.

Even though the third installment of this wonderful franchise was postponed until last month, Paul Rudd and company returned with some interesting casting, including Jonathan Majors as the antagonist Kang the Conqueror and Bill Murray as… something.

Shortly after the release of 2022’s Scream, it was revealed that there would be a sequel that would focus on the characters who lived through that movie. Scream VI released on March 10th. Hayden Panettiere reprised her role as Kirby Reed from Scream 4, but series star Neve Campbell does not appear in the movie since she declined the offer because it was less than she thought she was worth for the project. In terms of the plot, Sam and Tara (played by Melissa Barrera and Jenna Ortega) and their pals find themselves being harassed in New York City by Ghostface.

Following his giddily irreverent 2021 effort The Suicide Squad, writer-director James Gunn returns with the new Guardians, which is certain to have a winning Chris Pratt, an amazing mix — see what we did there? — of other performers, and, we’re just betting, plenty of hilarious antics. We also know that Adam Warlock, who was hinted at at the conclusion of Vol. 2, would be played by Will Poulter. This film comes out May 5th.

The fastest and angrier franchise out there is currently on its eleventh chapter, and this is only part one. (Part two, reported to be the series’ final installment, will be released in 2024.) While the narrative is currently under wraps, we do know that Vin Diesel, Michelle Rodriguez, and the rest of the family will return to continue doing what they do best on May 19th.
