Lydia Dunbar trained a lot this summer to be prepared for this season. It showed in the results on the winners’ podium.

This past weekend, a champion emerged from the ranks of Wakefield;  Lydia Dunbar earned first place in the DCXC Cross Country Invitational. This is Lydia’s first time winning an invitational race. After the race, on the podium, Lydia just remembers that she was “out of breath.”

As the day continued, Lydia said, “I felt accomplished that I won.” This accomplishment gives her the drive to do bigger and better things, like get into the college of her dreams. Lydia wants to run track in college and wants to strive for more; she will work harder now than ever before.
