Happy New Year: First Colorways of 2017

It’s time to start off the New Year right, let’s get into some of 2017’s first colorways of the year.

To start off we have the Air Jordan 15 Stealth, originally released in ’99, is inspired by the X-15 fighter jet that was created by NASA in the 50’s. Now we see this shoe making it’s last release with a full black upper that’s done in a combination of full grain leather with a woven material that runs through the side panels. A little bit of varsity red can be seen on the heel, toe, and branding of the shoe. The shoe released January 7th at $190.

Next come the Air Jordan 31 Black Toe. Inspired by the Air Jordan 1, this shoe has a black to white gradient flyweave upper that starts with black at the toe and transitions to white at the heel which is made of leather. The swoosh on the side and the jumpman near the ankle are done in black with little hits of red on the flywire, midsole, and translucent outsole. This colorway dropped on the 7th but at a price of $185.

Following the Air Jordan 31, are the Air Jordan 12 Low Max Orange. This shoe is sporting a classic palette of black and anthracite dominating it’s suede and leather upper, the stealthy profile has vibrant hits of orange which are prominent to the side panels with jumpman branding on the tongue and heel pull tabs. A matching full length rubber sole unit with carbon fiber detailing on the outsole finishes off the sleek and simple design. This shoe came out January 14th at $170.

After the 12s, come the Air Jordan 13 Black Cat. The Silhouette of the shoe boasts a black finish through the entire upper with 3M reflective detailing as well as the laces. The theme is further plain with circular hologram on the heel and outsole to copy the pattern of the panthers eye. In addition slight glossy proportions on the matching rubber sole unit completes it’s understated design. This shoe comes out January 21st at $190.

Later in the month come the Air Jordan 8 Take Flight. Now, the shoe has a nubuck-based upper thats covered in sequoia green, while it has black and wolf-grey accents on the rear mudguard, tongue, and sole unit. Finally, it has the max orange color jumpman on the tongue. This shoe is set to come out on January 28th at $190.

Next are the Air Jordan CNY. This colorway of the Jordan 12 is a pair that celebrates Chinese New Year. This colorway has a 3M white leather upper, which is then contrasted by black detailing on the outsole, mudguard, inner liner, and special tag on the tongue. The symbol on the tongue translates to the number ’12’ in Chinese. The mudguard has textured detailing along with wood accents on the upper eyelets, aglets, and branding on the side panels. This shoe is expected to release on the 28th at $250.

 At the same time there’s another pair of Air Jordan 12 Chinese New Year shoes releasing but these are Grade School. This shoe flaunts a color pallet that goes with the Chinese culture, the shoe is defined by a creamy off white upper with bright red accents adorning the inner lining and portion of the tongue. In addition woodgrain eyelets and miniature branded panels on the sides complete the shoe. And same with the tongue logo, that symbol stands for number 12. The price of this shoe is $160

Now there’s another shoe dedicated to Chinese New Year. The Air Jordan 31 CNY. It honors the 20th anniversary of JB’s stance in the Chinese market. The shoe has a simplistic color scheme of black and white in gradient effect all through it’s flyweave and leather upper. Cool grey accents are used for the enlarged jumpman branding and inner lining while bamboo detailing is on the heel. Also the translucent outsole has a distinctive interwoven graphic to further coordinate with the respective theme as special Chinese symbols are along the inner tongue. This shoe releases the same date as the last two but at $200.

The last shoe of January are the Air Jordan 1 Pure White. It has an all white upper leather with perforation on the heel, swoosh, and possibly the toe, and obviously everything is done in white. The only contrast is the black outsole. This shoe is set to release this Winter or Spring at $160, so keep an eye out for the release date.

Pretty good start to 2017, wouldn’t you say?
