Wakefield Boys Basketball does not disappoint. This season has had its ups and downs. The Boys have played against opponents stronger than they have ever faced before. They have shown what it truly means to be a Warrior.

On Friday, January 6th, the Boys started 2017 off right. They beat Edison on our home court, 82-54. Our Warriors took an early lead of 31-16 in the first quarter and never let off the gas; they kept playing the high paced brand of basketball that we have been known for.

The Warriors led 52-29 at halftime and ended the great game with a huge win over the Eagles 82-54. Our boys balled out with senior Alan Treakle scoring 16 points, grabbing 4 rebounds and dishing out 5 assists, junior Amari Cooper dropped 13 points and grabbed 10 rebounds, senior Halil Parks and junior Mahmoud Eltaher both scored 11 points with Mahmoud also grabbing 10 rebounds.

Mahmoud had this to say about Friday’s impressive win, “we’ve gone through rough patches as a team this year and the only way to get past that is to come to work every single day to get the results we did in Friday’s game. Games like that are huge confidence boosters.”

Sophomore Chris Warner also finished the night with 10 points, junior Eric Isler had a great game coming off the bench and scoring 8 points including a pretty impressive dunk in the 3rd quarter that got the crowd all hyped up! Isler had this to say about the amazing game, “we played Wakefield basketball, our defense was our offense.”

At the end of the game, our record was 10-3, and 4-0 in conference play!

Our Warriors took off and never stopped against Marshall and won the game 62-51!

Before this game, both of the teams were undefeated in the conference, but that changed. Our boys were lead by junior Ben Horsford who scored an impressive 15 points off the bench and dropped 4 threes in the process. Sophomore Chris Warner scored 12 points and junior Amari Cooper scored 11 points and grabbed 5 rebounds! It was another impressive victory for our Warriors against another tough opponent in Marshall.

After the win against Marshall our boys were 11-3 and 5-0 in conference play!

The game against Falls Church was an amazing display of basketball from our boys! Our Warriors won the game, 86-53!

Wakefield was lead by another impressive performance from our senior superstar Alan Treakle who scored 18 points and dished out 5 assists!! Junior Eric Isler scored 11 points off the bench, junior Ronin Sunderland dropped 9 points and sophomore Chris Warner had a huge night grabbing 10 rebound in the process!

Our boys improve to 12-3 and are 6-0 in the conference!
