Student Spotlight: Josh Sutton Hurdling Over All Obstacles
Josh earned Boys Athlete of the Meet at the Draper Invitational!
Joshua Sutton had the best meet of his season last weekend. He beat 4 personal records (PR) AND took home Athlete of the Meet!
Not many can say that they managed to beat 4 PR’s in one meet. These were the times for his events:
110 Hurdles
Prior PR: 16.13
Prelimes: 15.80 (PR)
Finals: 15.61 (PR)
300 Hurdles prior PR: 41.24
Prelimes: 41.12 (PR)
Finals:40.76 (PR)
He also won high-jump with a 6’2 jump!
After each race Josh said, “I would always look at my mom and have thanks… always filming and always supportive, always yelling and screaming telling me, ‘good job’. It is just that love between every time I finish. I…look to my mom. This one’s for my mom.”
If you see him in the halls today, make sure to wish him luck at Districts . Track and Field leave right after school to compete in Districts at Falls Church High School.
