WHS cheerleaders take a picture before the first football game of the season!

It’s that time of year again, the battle of the cheerleaders! Cheer teams from different counties step on the cheer mat to compete tomorrow. The schools competing are Marshall, West Potomac, Stuart, South lakes, Edison, Hayfield, TC Williams, Yorktown & your Wakefield High School cheerleaders!

WHS cheerleaders have been waiting since August for this day to come, and it’s finally here. Senior Jadah Clarke, member of Wakefield varsity cheer since freshman year said, “we’ve had a lot of challenges to overcome this season and after losing I hope we’ve recovered and put together a great routine! We’re all excited for competition and ready to show the judges what we’re made of.”

Varsity coach Tamar Willis said, “after overcoming a lot of obstacles, I am looking forward to seeing our team step up and overcome the challenges we’ve faced. I am super proud of this strong bunch of Warriors.”

Make sure to come out and support your cheerleaders as they take on all eight schools. @WarriorCheerfam needs all the support they can get, #warriornation.

The 2014 cheer competition will be held at Hayfield High School Tuesday, October 7th. Doors open at 5:45 and competition starts at 6:30. Admission for family and friends is $6.00.
