The game itself was one of the most buzzed-about games in decades. Played between the Seattle Seahawks and the New England Patriots at Levi’s Stadium in Santa Clara, California. The game was a rematch of Super Bowl LIII. Seattle emerged victorious behind a stifling defense and timely booting from Jason Myers, winning 29–13.
The Seahawks’ defense harassed Patriots quarterback Drake Maye all game, sacking him multiple times and forcing turnovers. Seattle also dominated time of possession and field position for much of the game. Seahawks QB Geno Smith threw for one touchdown and ran for another. In Seattle’s win, they won their second Lombardi Trophy. According to Nielsen ratings, the average viewer number was over 124.9 million U.S. viewers, making Super Bowl LX the second-most watched show in U.S. broadcast history. The peak viewership reached approximately 137.8 million viewers during the second quarter.
This year’s halftime show — perennially one of the Super Bowl’s most culturally significant elements — broke new ground. Staged performances from Puerto Rican artist Bad Bunny and featured performances from Lady Gaga, Ricky Martin, and Los Pleneros de la Cresta made Super Bowl halftime memorable. Bad Bunny became the first artist to perform the majority of their halftime set in Spanish. His performance was watched by an average of 128.2 million viewers, making it one of the five most watched halftime shows of all time.
Notable player statistics from Super Bowl LX includes Seattle running back Kenneth Walker III yardage and New England’s kicker Nick Folk being moved to the bench in favor of fellow kicker Jason Myers, who tied the record for most field goals in a Super Bowl (5). Overall, Super Bowl LX had plenty of big moments and that will be remembered throughout NFL history.
