Why Are Manchester United Not Performing And Can They Come Back?
Recent Years
Manchester United used to have a good reputation. That all has been changing in recent years; from new coaches, to new signings, the team has not been able to find a system that works. People expect them to be one of the best teams of the Premier League, but with their players’ individual problems and management issues it has been very difficult for them to find their rhythm.
25-26 Season
This season has been a rough start for them. From losing in the second round of the EFL Cup, to Grimsby Town in penalties in their pre-season, and having three losses so far in the season, they have not found a winning pattern. Their biggest problems behind the scenes are a lack of adaptability, player performance and mentality, and poor communication and tactical misalignment.
Can they come back?
It is possible for them to make a comeback, the manager Ruben Amorim has a new system, and it is helping them win games so far. They have beat teams from the likes of Chelsea, Sunderland, and Burnley. These teams are not very big, minus Chelsea, but it is proof that this team can work and possibly be a contender for the trophy. According to 3addedminutes, Amorim is criticized for a perceived unwillingness to alter his tactical approach, even when it’s not working, hindering the team’s ability to adapt to different situations.
The team just needs to build a new mentality and possibly new chemistry. This is because of the lack of discipline and the little mistakes. These tiny little mistakes make the game harder than it should be for them as it can make them slip up against mid table teams. If Amorim decides to change his tactics to something that is not as predictable, they will get the success they have been wanting for the last few years.
